Germany – A Partner for Peace in Haiti

12/19/2025

Germany is contributing an additional 35 million USD to the UN Trust Fund for the Gang Suppression Force in Haiti.

Haiti faces an ever-worsening crisis: armed gangs are terrorizing the country, with escalating violence and criminal activities. Haiti cannot overcome this crisis alone. It needs international help. Germany stands with Haiti and other international partners in this time of need.

The Security Council resolution mandating the Gang Suppression Force creates important momentum towards peace. At this critical moment, decisive and steadfast international support is essential.

As a committed supporter of multilateral solutions, anchored in the United Nations, Germany is proud to contribute an additional 35 million USD to the UN Trust Fund for the Gang Suppression Force. This adds to our previous 11 million USD contribution in 2024. With a total contribution of 46 million USD, Germany is the second largest donor.

We stand in solidarity with our Caribbean allies and the many troop- and police-contributing countries. Haiti deserves our sustained commitment to peace, to be able to re-take control, re-establish government and security institutions, provide services for its people and hold general elections as soon as possible.
